Good work! Top retro hack ;D Have you thought about taking the viscous fan off for an electric one? Easy to do and frees up a few extra horses. I built mine from scrapyard parts (even the temp switch setup! ;D)

Yeah I have thaught about it, I fitted on to my 16v Coupe but had to cut the front panel to make it fit... That was a Kenlowe tho so If I can find one smaller that would fit nice an snug then yeah!
The whole cooling system needs sorting on this but it works! So I'll leave it until after new year! I've had to disconnect the heated manifold because I could't make the pipes fit right. Just need to make up a new set with different bends.

The 16v's the same weight as the O series in the estate! But with the 5 speed box its more balanced so yeah it dose help with the wallow.
The O series in this Ital works nicely cos the larger chassis takes up a lot of the wind up, fitted with gas dampers front and back and anti roll bars it certainly will be better on the bumpy roads of Warwickshire!

Looking sweet! Most Itals I've seen seem to be that same shade of blue!
I like the estate in the background. What are the plans for that?

Thanks! I know what you mean about the colour! Although it is a dam sight better than Hearing aid beige!
The white Mk1 1800 SDL Estate is my dad's. He is restoring it to origional. Although I've rebuilt all the suspension for him and the electrics.

Good work! Top retro hack ;D Have you thought about taking the viscous fan off for an electric one? Easy to do and frees up a few extra horses. I built mine from scrapyard parts (even the temp switch setup! ;D) The theory of replacing a mechanically driven fan with an electric one to gain power is a sound one. However remember a mechanically driven fan spins at engine speed, whereas a viscous clutch driven fan has a maximum speed way below that of a direct driven fan and so takes considerably less power to drive. The power to drive a fan at, say 3krpm is considerably less than that taken to drive one at 6krpm. When we took the fan off a Mini we gained under 2bhp at 5,500rpm and no measurable difference at 3krpm. The dyno operator reckoned that we would have had it up to 4bhp by 7k but we weren't going to spin a 1098cc A series to 7k without some bottom end work. So how much you would gain in swapping a viscous coupled fan for an electric one I don't know. Nice work so far by the way. Must be nice to have such a big work area. I don't even have a lock up, I'm limitted to what you can do in the street.

The unit I am in is an old barn. I wrote to a few local farmers and it worked out cool! I am moving into another unit on the same farm next year that is bigger! I took the car on its maiden voyage... Broke down... carbs need proper balance! Sorted that and now need to re seal the exhaust as it is blowing badly! Oh and fix down the oil cooler!

Looking good, a real one off. This pic reminds me of a smaller Volvo Estate.

The barn is £6 per week per car.. That's about what you would pay in council garages! But remember to pick a farm that dose not have animals if possible otherwise you will find your cars covered in mud and curse word as you drive through the yard! We have about 15 car's at the moment... Thankfully they are not all mine!!! I've been told that the car looks very Volvo esq before... I'm even sticking the registration plate at the front N/S of the bumper as per a modded Volvo pic I once saw! I'm surprised no one has asked if I'm leaving the bonnet off!!! I'm thinking Mat Black!!?
