Unfortunately life and wibblepoo has dictated that my poor old Punto has to go, I had hoped to start to fix it up after a head gasket failure but alas it's not been meant to be.
This is a very rare factory manual 6-speed... yes you heard right a 6 speed manual in 1994 mated to the 1108 cc Fire engine. This is only one of 5 Punto EL 6 speeds left in the UK, the car being an early one is a non immobilizer car so no red key to worry about.
I'll be honest this car is a project, it needs work so isn't something that you can drive away I'm afraid. It does come with a replacement engine with only 40,000 on the clock, so a weekends work would see this little Fiat running without a James Bond smoke screen behind it!
The other issue with the car is I suspect the heater matrix is leaking, some welding needed in the drivers rear wheel arch and drivers floor to sill area. The bracket for the fuel filler neck inside the drivers rear arch has rotted away an gone AWOL.
Fuel filler neck was replaced with a brand new part as it had started to leak, which was all the way from Italy and you can't buy it from Fiat no more was not cheap I tell thee!
Whilst it's been sat the last two years the rear axle has gone very rusty, so needs rubbing down or a shot blasting and powder coating and the rear bumper bracket to the floor are looking rather crusty. The back box rubber broke, so it's re-attached for now, but a new rubber is on there in a fashion so keep it from hitting the deck.
The wheels are a miss match of alloys and steel wheels at the moment to keep it rolling, I have all the original steel wheels and one is on the car along with the original space saver. The other three wheels minus tyres and the correct bolts come with it, and I'll include some Fiat wheel trims as well but the original style ones are long since gone alas.
The car needs paint work roof was rattle caned by a previous owner which I attempted to improve slightly, it looks okay but the car has lacquer peel all over so needs a respray at some point.
I do have a stack of paperwork for this car from the pervious owners which I think I am the third or fourth, and all the bills, receipts and what not during my ownership as well as a current V5 in my name.
Appreciate this is a project and is only going to appeal to a few people, but if I didn't need the money and to stop paying storage on it I would try and keep it but sadly I have no choice.
I really want it to go to someone who can get this car back on the road, as it's not beyond redemption it just needs the right person to do all the things I can't or can't afford to do. Please don't buy it if you think you might do it, I want some one who will do it as I'd love to see it done and back on the road as it'd make a great car for the festival of exceptional etc..
I need about £450 as I need to get some repairs done on my daily car, but might be able to have a little bit of wiggle room if it's going to a good home and this price includes the replacement engine for the car.
