on offer at the moment (2 packs for £20) looks like I could cover the whole garage for just eighty quid which seems to be way cheaper than any other options I've seen that must mean these are actually no good right? can't take the weight of a car, don't stay locked together, trap moisture underneath, tear easily, can't withstand spillages, make little puppies cry... this would probably be an interim measure to improve on bare concrete for a few years until I get round to doing a more expensive permanent job in the future help me oh wise retroriders - is this a false economy? halfords-6pc-black-floor-mat-set---120cm-x-180cm

I'll have to let you know as I have done the same. Apparently it's a good idea to leave 10mm or so at the edge as they expand in hot weather.
My garage floor is ridged concrete, but I rent so can't re-do it...

I have these, but I don't use the garage for the car. Been down a year or so, no issues with any spills or grinder sparks.
Made a huge difference to the cold floor!
I'm storing my sisters washing machine atm, I moved them for that. I also lift them for my swing-out rolling bandsaw trolley...

I use them dotted about the place where I stand for long times, like at workbench. The cushion effect makes it better.
I don't used them under the car as they are too soft and crush/ take a set under weights.

I've got them in my garage, my vespa scooter sits on them and it leaves indentations from the stand feet and tyres so I'd say not good for parking a car on

I've had some of these for about three years under a hot tub. They squish a bit over time but at £20 just buy an extra pack when they get damaged. They do them in black at B&Q as well

sounds like it might be a good thing for round the edges of the garage and I should get something stronger for where the car sits
it does mean I'd not need to buy so much of the sturdy stuff so could still be a fair money saver!
cheers guys

Just ordered enough to do upstairs in the garage. It's got a wooden floor anyway but I thought why not get a softer feel. I'll put some pics up when they are down.

I have these around my workbench, probably around 6 foot into my garage. The car doesn't get parked on them, but it's amazing the difference they make walking on cold concrete or just kneeling down. 7 years so far. Don't get me wrong, they're pretty knackered now, mainly grinder marks and full of welding spatter and hot offcuts of metal. Kneeling is not so much fun now actually 7 years of welding, grinding etc

Before and after shots. These are hugely comfortable compared with the ridged concrete floor. Really easy to fit too - they cut easily with a Stanley knife should you need to fit them round odd bits in the garage. I haven't done much as yet but they look and feel good so far.

stuck down or just laid straight on top? Don't need sticking down, and apparently, depending on how much sun your garage gets, they can warp as they expand if they're glued down or right up to the walls Not had that issue with mine, but then my door faces away from the sun and I have a house at the back of the garage

Think I'd be a little concerned about grinding or welding on them . . .

Think I'd be a little concerned about grinding or welding on them . . . I don't weld, but I do use a grinder. No issues so far. However, any grinding I do is at the bench, might be different if you were under a car?

I have some of these.
For what they are, they do the job, but they do get dented easily.
