1982 Fiat 126 'brown edition' - Vinny
650cc aircooled engine.
36k miles
Mot and tax exempt!!
For sale is my absolute pride and joy, Vinny the 126. I've had him close to 6 years now but it's time to move him on unfortunately.
He's 40 years old (41 in september), he's a UK, right hand drive genuine brown edition. Although being a genuine brown, the only part that remains the original colour is found on the interior, engine bay, and under the front trunk. The car has been previously painted (badly!) In gorgeous rover russet brown and Ford dove grey. Also comes featuring real wood side panels and chrome bumpers.
He has had the engine rebuilt to 'Abarth spec' with a small fortune being spent to upgrade the 650cc powerhouse from 24bhp to a whacking 32bhp!
He comes with a dell'orto FZD 32.28 carburetor, larger inlet valves, ported and polished cylinder head, Abarth 35/75 camshaft, monza style exhaust, Abarth aluminium 3.5ltr sump and Abarth aluminium rocker cover.
Aswell as the engine modifications, Vinny has had a whole host of other new parts since being with me.
These include a fuel tank, fuel pump, fuel hoses, alternator, thurmostat, ht leads in a fancy pants yellow, fan cowling and thurmostat housing powdercoated in 'Black copper', engine block and barrels have been aqua blasted, oil pump, front seats (these were sourced from Holland), battery, master cylinder, brake lines, brake hoses and probably alot more that I've forgotten.
Vinny is currently sat on Fiat X1/9 bertone 'phonedials' with 4 good matching tyres, these are 13inch due to having to fit over Fiat punto mk2 disk brakes up front.
He was on display at the 2022 NEC classic car show taking pride on the Fiat club G.B stand, he drove there and back an absolute dream, apart from on the way home we developed an issue where the lights were extremely dim. He's been parked up under wraps since our return, but I've been out today and pretty sure I've figured it out and just charging the battery while writing this, then I'll head out next weekend to test him out.
In short, Vinny is an amazing car, with tatty paint, but a solid engine and some very rare parts on him! He's also completely RUST FREE underneath! I know, a 40 year old Fiat being rust free... crazy right?!
Priced at £5000 or near offer.
Located in Leicestershire.
