Hello all you fellow RR'rs. The mini checkmate post got me thinking on this again. I know its a long-shot but does anyone on here know the whereabouts of 5GTT H490 VUS? Glacier White 1990 model that I sold in Surrey to a lad who worked at a Land Rover dealership in/near High Wycombe/Beaconsfield. I think the year was about 2003, definitely early noughties. I bought it in about 94 and I was the second owner and I think I sold it with about 94k on it. It was pretty much stock apart from a GT Tuning exhaust, strapped intercooler and a Bosch plastic recirc dump valve (OE Ford fitment at the time). I'd also sold it with a GT Tuning adjustable boost valve which I never got round to fitting. I'd stored it for a good 5 years as I had every intention of keeping it but a first house purchase needed a deposit so I had to sell! To this day I regret selling it as it was in such good condition and unmolested (still had the original orange indicator lenses and original rear parcel shelf!). I random rabbit-hole search in Instagram came up with a few pics and it looks like it's current owner is a guy called Scott Barlow. I've messaged him on there but to no avail. below are the few pics I found in the 'gram starting with the oldest with horrendous alloys and the latest looking like I'd just sold it albeit hit with the lows after my ownership. ![](https://img.retro-rides.org/i/v/daver555/3098814312d6.jpg)

Saw an R5GT Turbo on the telly and lead me to wonder what had happened to mine - and here it is! daver555, you weren't the second owner - that was me! I bought it at the car auctions on a visit back to Glasgow (hence the *US reg). I think it was only 3 months old when I bought it - It should have rung alarm bells! I don't think in those days Cat S and N etc was around. Anyway when I got it back from the auction I noticed that under the street lights the nearside (I think) wing and door was a slightly different shade from the rest of the car and the plastic wheel arch extension had a smooth finish rather than the grained surface on the other arches. There was a small paint run under the door lock as well as a brand new lower suspension arm in the boot! However it drove well and got me back down south no problem. However, after a while I found the carpet was getting wet and noticed a bit of paint bubbling (around the side repeater? - my memory is getting a big foggy these days!). As I was worried things may start getting worse, I traded it in at the Reading Renault dealer after about a year for a R19 16V - interestingly no MOT history showing up for that, so it looks like the 5 has outlived the 19 as it has recently been MOT'd.
