Cracking project for someone to finish, I had been saving it for myself to finish off, but time and space...
It will be one of the nicest ones out there when done in my opinion.
1 Owner and 20,000 odd miles from new.
Twin rear wheel model, and a drop-side truck from new.
It has been off the road in dry storage for decades.
I started restoring it a few years back, chassis has never been welded, the only 2 small areas of welding that has been done are to the battery tray and passenger door step, otherwise all original steel.
The cab and chassis were fully stripped and sprayed in its Sunset red colour.
The drop-side bed has been fully restored, blasted and painted, and fitted up with all new, English character grade Oak planks, milled to order, fully kiln dried, t&g and oiled up. The bed and wood work looks stunning, and much more in-keeping than a plywood floor!
There is a locker box made and fitted behind the cab, its watertight and the lid does lock.
Interior is all complete and pretty good overall, not that there is much of an interior in a Mk1 Transit!
Truck is all complete, all panels are present and painted, the mudgaurds, lights, trim, ancillaries etc are all here with it.
I have the original V4 petrol engine here, with gearbox, it has been stripped down and is in bits, but is ready for refurb and building.
I also have another all complete V4 petrol engine here, complete with gearbox, and lots of duplicate parts and ancillaries etc. This engine was removed from a runner a year or so ago, so ready to drop straight in.
V5 needs applying for as it was lost and truck was stashed away and off the road for decades, so DVLA want photos of finished truck before issuing the new V5. Registration is recorded with them, and plates are with truck, so is simple enough.
Charming little truck and will be a nice project.
Happy to deliver if required at cost.
Will add better photos soon, but its currently tucked away in the dry.
Thanks, Matt
