Hello all once again.
The alternator in my V6 TT pooped itself a few weeks back, at least I suspect that’s what it is, all indications are that it is alternator related. So in preparation I tried to call my local Alternator guy and it turns out he has retired, great. So now I am looking for a trustworthy and reliable alternator rebuilders in the south east. I am In Kent but surrounding counties are no problem. I’d much rather a place I can walk into than somewhere online, but I suppose at this point I am open to anything.
Usually I just buy replacement parts off of online breakers, so far I’ve had no problems at all, however this alternator seems to be a bit of a picky one, despite the 3.2 V6 engine being used in many Vag platforms, the mounting lugs seem to differ, that combined with it already being in a very tricky spot to get to (allegedly) I’d rather not be faffing about with bits that I am not entirely sure will fit.
Any help, guidance or suggestions on this would be heatedly appreciated.
Thanks!
