Theres a DAF owners club for sure mate, i've seen them at quite a few of the shows over the years.

And not forgetting the Volvo 300 series.
It's odd how some people treat the variomatic or CVT thing like its almost unique to Daf. Quite a few other manufacturers have used it over the years. The weirdest use being the ones with pre-programmed ratios for use as a poor mans flappy paddle shift, ever driven an MGF fitted with that? Odd.
I owned a Metro 1.4 with CVT for a while. It was a real hoot to drive and you could really puzzle your passengers or indeed other road users. With careful throttle use you could keep the revs dead steady while the car accelerated. Particularly fun if you floored it from about 30. The revs would climb almost to the readline and then stay there until you were flat out.
It's a shame that it won't take huge amounts of power or torque and that it absorbs quite a bit of power.
