Hi guys! Been here a long time but mostly just lurked.
It's finally time for my Supra to seek greener pastures, but I have absolutely no idea what it's worth, hence the post!
The Turbo almost never comes up for sale so I'm struggling to gauge a price based on previous sales like I normally do for any other vehicle. There's one low mileage "just like from the factory" one up for £30k which seems rediculous to me but eh, and some naturally aspirated non-turbo versions for sale in a wild array of prices from £2k to £10k.
Mine is a 1990 model with the 7M-GTE turbo engine.
Tons and tons of money spent on the engine over the years, got it to Stage 2 as per THIS SITE but also with some items from the later stages such as new Turbo internals, better waste gate actuator, blow off valve, oil catch can with proper routing to maintain crankcase pressure, and probably some other things I've forgotten.
I had to research the alloys and I'm confident they are Kosei Seneka RZ alloys which I'm lead to believe were top-end and fairly expensive in the 90's so while they're not original to the car they are period correct. All diamond cut.
The body is in good state and wouldn't take much to get to A+ condition if you have a friendly paint guy, there's some flat paint here and there and while there's no rust on the rear arches at this time the toyotas of this age do suffer from that like they all do. The paintwork is very much of its time, though I did hand polish regularly and tried my best to take care of it.
It has a gorgeous full leather blue interior. I'm lead to believe the leather interiors are much more desirable, and as far as I know the seats have simply been well cared for and fed and not recovered.
I replaced all the speakers since the original paper cones were completely knackered when I got the car, but I did it in a way where I could keep the original resonator boxes. The sound quality considering it's only four speakers is pretty damn good.
Has the coldest AC I've ever experienced, as well as the infamous "crotch cooler" vent (in summer yes it really does help!). It could do with topping up though as it's nowhere near as cold as it used to be. I've not converted it to R134a, I believe it's fairly easy to convert or you can find someone with R32 canisters if you want to experience icicles on your nose in the height of summer.
Current mileage as of taking the sale pics is 124598.
MOT'ed until 9th May 2023 and you're more than welcome to check MOT history using the registration. Before you say it yes I have a regular MOT guy with a sense of humour.
Comes with the Haynes manual, an insert to muffle the exhaust (if you go to work early this will stop your neighbours wanting to murder you), and a fitted StormForce washable outdoor cover.
I'm looking for a quick-ish sale but also don't want to simply give it away. I know car prices especially for rarities are all over the place right now.
She's so much fun to drive and sounds amazing.
