The whole idea of a roadracing Nova is a clown show. That's why he did it. To stick it in the whole world's ear. Good for him, a real accomplishment. It is a mechanical atrocity in stock format. Most Novas can't even track true, much less turn right and turn left.

not cared about the origins or the reasons - only the results If you don't know what the origins are, you don't know if there are any results. Maybe it's the way it started out! And nothing was done.

Its a shame pro touring didnt kick off as big over here its a perfect way to update a muscle car while keeping it very driveable.

I think we've been doing "pro touring " for years but in a different kind of way. Improving the handlign of Capris, Grandada, Cortinas, etc and whacking in more power. Mind you so were the yanks. Just that there wasn't a "scene" or a magazine defined label for it.
Engines in a box are great for guys who don;t have the time, facilities or skill to build a motor of their own. Plus you get a warranty. Same as buying pre built transmissions or pre built axles.
Novas are great when sorted out. Like most cars TBH they are pretty dowdy as stock but they are light and rigid and can be worked over pretty nice. For people sticking two fingers up - do I need to repost pics fo that roadracing Cadillac Coupe De Ville which spanks Porsches and the like... That makes me laugh every time I even think about it.

I have to admit that Pro Touring gives me the horn...
...But every time I see a *really* nicely built car, I can't help but feel I'd like it even better if it had ten thousand hard-driven and abused miles under it.

Mmm, £3k for a blown SB Chevy is peanuts, shame I can't it a blower under the hood of the Cutty without a ridiculously tall cowl hood. Looks like I'm going to have to stick to the serpentine blower which is much more money!
