I'm wanting to paint the steering wheel in this fashion, but I'm fielding ideas on color combinations, as well as advice on some pitting.
I want to paint the center 3 and 9 o'clock position one color, and the top and bottom as another, but would like some suggestions on color combinations. The black on the horn section I'd like to paint black (as seen by the black line), or possibly match the 3 & 9 color. I think black would be best to compliment the center Impala bezel.

Also, the chrome has some some severe pitting all about, as seen here. How would I remove the pitting? Just grind it down with my rotary tool's grinding stone? Removing all the chrome just wouldn't be a good idea/too much trouble. I'm thinking grinding the pits and painting it some chrome paint or something. Maybe just some silver or "aluminum" colored paint too.

20230109_174714 by sir_mac_alot66, on FlickrI'd like also like to put some really bright leds behind the Impala bezel to have it backlit. Also, having the horn switch activate the backlit function. To activate the horn, is just to push on the chrome "wings" next to the Impala bezel and chrome quarter circle. The center bezel doesn't actuate.
