Nice little project, to crack on with, needs bits here and there but overall a nice little car, need to try and adjust some bits to fit my tubby 6ft 3 frame into it! Would love to hear from any other Fiat 126 owners or what people would do to it if it were theres?

I am, or was, 6ft 51/2 inches, (old age "shrinkage") I drove a 126 to work and back, about 16 miles each way, for a couple of years, great fun, Funniest was when the starter cable connector pin snapped and in a busy street I had to use my stave (truncheon) to start it, people must have thought I was beating it into life lol, It happened so often I used to carry half a dozen ad spares as they were only pence then, it might not be a bad idea for you to consider ?? Looking forward to seeing future updates, Nigel

need to try and adjust some bits to fit my tubby 6ft 3 frame into it! Regards from my mate Michael, he used a hammer to alter the seat rails on the floor, so he was able to push the seat further back maximal.

Finally got the car back, small bit of welding to the cill and seat runner, new washer bottle motor, hazard relay... so now has 12 months MOT! First day on the road, brake seized, wheel off and released then taken for a test drive........boom! Stuck in 3rd gear, gear linkage snapped! Luckily my friend whos is waaaaaaaayyyy more advanced with mechanical knowhow had it off and ran round to the welder who luckily hadnt left yet who managed to weld it back up for me.. Took it for a wash then proceeded to flood the inside of the car, cleaned up and drove to the pub with the misses for a roast! ABSOLUTLEY LOVE THIS CAR!!!!
