Can you still get Daewoo parts in the UK? They sold them here in the US for a couple years. The ones they sold here were total curse word, I test drove a Lanos while looking for a car for the daughter and it was the worst modern car I'd ever driven-all I could think while driving it was that some misguided person actually bought this thing new off the showroom floor. Boggles my brain. We hosted a korean exchange student who knew just enough about cars to know that Daewoo was the worst Korean brand. Lots of head gasket and timing belt failures. I think you can. You'll be, erm, 'delighted' to know they've been rebranded as Chevrolet now as they're part of the GM empire. I'm probably one of the very few people on this earth who likes the Matiz (the smallest Daewoo) though apparantly their crash rating borders on the shameful. I did some research, and apparently the "Aveo" is a Daewoo. I should have known. I took one for a test drive when I was thinking that I was going to have to replace the Aztek with something newer (after only 256,500Km  ) and the thought went through my mind that I couldn't see anybody happily making the payments on the thing. It sure made the Cobalt look good though.  |

.... I'm probably one of the very few people on this earth who likes the Matiz (the smallest Daewoo) though apparantly their crash rating borders on the shameful. I like Matiz`z`s too actually. I used to own one a new a while back (I won it in a prize draw competition!) and it was a nice wee thing to drive. Not much poke from the engine for motorway or open roads, but round town it was a hoot and surprisingly roomy. They have a wee tuning scene all of their own in a few asian countries. |
