Mate your work is first class, Every one of those motors look really nice, Love the Corsair, always had a soft spot for them, (also, have to say, 100% envy of your workshop facilities / size, Don't know how I've missed this thread previously but will not be missing future updates, Bookmarked, Nigel

Sierra is finished and currently up for sale , I hate selling anything specially when I’ve put in more effort than I expected but I’ve changed plans with the Corsair so need the space and money to advance on that , it came out real nice drives spot on too If it doesn’t sell I it’ll be getting a 3ltr v6 on carbs and lowered considerably , also bought a transit so rapidly running out of space so fingers crossed it’ll go as the itch to pull it apart and do something to it is getting too much 😂

Update on the 1940 army staff car . Came from a museum in Blackpool , didn’t look too bad till you peeled it apart All new bushes , brakes brake hoses and lines , engine stripped new pistons , shells , uprated cam , valves and lifters , new old stock stromberg carb , new fuel pump , new water pumps , all the usual bits , alternator and 12v from 6v conversion , all new wiring , electric wipers and electric heaters too , and a hidden Bluetooth stereo system (Bluetooth speaker under the dash tie wrapped up 😂) , also new glass and rubbers , interior re trimmed , new sound deadening , hoping to get it to a few shows this year and use it a lot next year

And a pic of the Corsair , I feel I was too quick in choosing an engine for the car , I do like 4 cylinder turbo rwd cars , make a good noise and would of been quick enough but I like v8’s , like I really like v8’s , and do plan on building a very wild v8 Sierra in a few years time so the thought of that kept the v8 voices in my head quiet for a bit , but then I thought about what I really want from the Corsair as it’ll be a keeper and I kept going back to the v8 engine so have bought a bmw m62 3.5ltr v8 , not massively powerful somewhere around 240hp , but it’s cheap , light , makes a good noise , likes to Rev , is really nicely engineered being a bmw motor and easily replaced if blown up , can get the 4.0 versions and 4.4 but I’m happy with around 250ish hp for now so mx5 engine removed and now to make some mounts and a sump to fit it into the Corsair

That power is also in the mildly tuned Sierra RS Cosworth bracket so it wont be slow....... Are they hard to get running?? Handily there’s a guy local who trims the standard looms and unlocks / deletes the immobilisers off the standard ecu’s to swap the m62 v8’s into e36’s so I’ll be going to him but even without him it’s not hard to get them running from what I’ve seen , and yeah 250ish hp in the Corsair will be a laugh , this car has never been about high hp just enough to have a laugh and sound good will do me

The 40 made it to the armed forces day parade , still not finished and it also ate up the alternator witch was annoying as it was supplied with the brackets for the 12v conversion so need to strip that and buy new bearings as no point getting a new one , still charges it just sounds mildly supercharged Sierra is now sold and Corsair will be up for sale , have a new project that is a dream build so couldn’t turn it down , as cool as the Corsair is sometimes if your hearts not in it you gotta know when to let them go
