FLG 368K left Longbridge in March 1972 and was registered in April to it's proud new owner, Mr C Carter. The original Plymouth based dealers sticker is still in the rear window! He also had the Mini Ziebart (or similar) treated as can been seen by the plugs in the door pillars etc which no doubt helped the Mini survive the last 50 years as well as it has! It is believed that Mr Carter used the Mini for some years before ill health meant it was parked in his garage where it remained for the next 35 years! Wisely Mr C did regularly start and move the Mini.
With its current owner since Oct 2019 who recommissioned the Mini so that it was fit for the road again replacing brake pipes and linings, water pump, dynamo, regulator, battery and five new tyres. I have also replaced the front shock absorbers, wheel bearings, thermostat. Has since been in very regular use by the current owner in dry weather. Runs and drives very well indeed with good oil pressure and has proven to be very reliable.
As you can see from the photos the whole car is incredibly original, still has the number tag on the front floor pan which are usually long gone! The glacier white bodywork although with surface rust is very solid and has no major rust or damage. The subframes are very good. The interior is equally as original and lovely.
This is a great opportunity to own a very original early Mk3 with some great patina. The next owner can choose to either continue to use and preserve the Mini as it is or it could go the other way and choose to restore it.
