Today in Kent it pee'd down, and my old dear has informed me the sunroof on her 6N1 Polo leaks on her seat and she sat in it (he-he).
It's a tilt/slide manual thing which doesn't open, so what can I try to stop it leaking? I don't want to force it in case it won't close again, so I guess I'll have to tackle it from the outside.
I don't want to gaffer tape it, would some kind of sikaflex stuff give a reasonably tidy result and keep the wet out? It won't matter if it never opens again.
Cheers.

It might just be the drains need cleaning out, you probably have to open it to get to them though.
Otherwise yes a bead of silkaflex or similar will seal it to the roof.

I use extra wide black electric tape on my partners car in the winter, follow the lines of the sunroof and trim the corners and you cant tell its taped up from a distance, and it peels off nice once its summer.
Otherwise a flexible sealant, such as a pu sealer will do it - tidyness results will entirely depend on the skill of the person applying it.

Clear waterproof sealant from somewhere like Toolstation or Screwfix will probably do the job if you don't mind sealing it shut. Use masking tape to get a clean edge.
If water isn't getting in through a gap in the roof but just around the edges of the rubber seal then Captain Tolleys Creeping Crack Cure is very good. It's a very runny sealant that you run around the edge of rubber seals on boats and cars. No good for big leaks though.
If you want to clear the drainage tubes, something like flexible garden wire or curtain wire usually does the trick, or an airline if you have a compressor.

Cheers for the replies. Doesn't matter if it's sealed shut, it isn't used.
I'll go down the masking tape and sealant route and see how it goes.

It might just be the drains need cleaning out, you probably have to open it to get to them though. Same thing on my Mk1 Octavia - the drains were blocked. If you can find where it drains to, you may well be able to clear them without opening it. Have a look between the door hinges - that's where I found them.

I used this method to seal a leaking windscreen, worked great and last a couple of year before the tape started to lift, redid it and it lasted another few years, was still going strong when I sold the car
