Profiled cutting A-Pillar tubes was very time consuming, like anything if I did them again I could have made them a better fit and tighter profile, that’s the nature of 1 off’s No 2nd pair of hands, wire ties towels and clamp Temporary held tubes in place for tacking Front Nose and instrument binnacle are ready for collection Front Uprights are apparently almost finished Time to buy more T45 tube

45mm 3-1 merge header (exhaust manifold) build In 304 stainless Measuring the ports they are perfect dimensions for 45mm squashed oval, simple vice then cut them off at 38mm long and repeat Bit of chamfering on flange and tube, hammer to start finishing with vice to press home square Only minor work needed make tube mate tight to flange opening

Trimming/ de-flashing on rear of nose around windscreen and door shut area, triple measurements Cross checks just to get some preliminary reference points for later Cut out grill opening This Nose is 3rd version John has, 1. Litton Corse 2. “ “ Grp5 type integral spoiler 3. New wider wheel arch, similar to original early Stratos Marlborough prototypes 3. This is the one I chose 1735mm width, I think most Grp4 are 1710mm I may order the Grp5 spoiler ? I like the factory 1st Grp5 Stratos prototype spoiler, which I would have to make myself, decide later.

Could/would you go about trimming the wheel arch with a router running off an appropriately shaped curve to guide you? I hope that makes sense.

John Definitely could, I do not have 1 Decided to cut my Splitter which I will attach to Nose It will aid easy on - off location to jig Then I will cut a plywood template for the wheel opening which I can support mount to jig for accurate equal side to side wheel arch profile

Arr the joys of making Race bodywork fit blend and symmetrical Getting there, slowly. Nice bit is having level jig table, though it’s not a ground surface plate, but it’s within 1mm + I have center line makes it easy to see discrepancies and adjust accordingly Front Nose weighs 11.6 kg easy to pick up and manipulate

That early Targa Florio front spoiler is what I’m thinking of making with replaceable lower edge as the latter Grp 5 ran

Not much to show recently, spent Easter and Coronation weekends fitting headlight boxes, modifying, bonding, laminating into this widened front nose, cut out headlight openings position measurements from LB eBay special winning bid for Tillet B6F FIA seat arrived today My car has a raised floor, ie higher ground clearance and no lower sill edge below the GRP body sill It’s good I’m almost Jockey size 😀 B6F seat is a triple angle curved type seat so it lowers the driver

Had me thinking there - I first read that as you would be converting to anticlockwise rotation ! Reading again its a new face orientation to move 7500 to the 12 o'clock position.
That seat looks set in so much space......... the reality is so different.

Maybe not quite 90 degrees but close On the seat I’m trying to get forward as possible, As pictured that’s the maximum, that seat being so slim as opposed an upholstered one is probably adding to that illusion It’s sitting too low at the moment, so anyway enough playing with bits of wood blocking, next order FIA weld-in seat rail, seat brackets Pedal box , thinking of Wilwoods 340-16602 it’s about £150 savings on a Tilton 600 series

Maybe not quite 90 degrees but close Maybe summat like this: With that well-equipped workshop you have it might not be relevant, but I know that for the Tilton pedal boxes there are multi-hole floor mounts available which might make driving position setup a little easier? Having said that I'm sure you could make your own for the Wilwood." it’s about £150 savings on a Tilton 600 series" Commercially available multi-hole (guest driver friendly?) pedal box mount
