i have a 1293 metro engine, it came in my advantage, it drove to our house from 40 miles away, and was on the road when i bought it. id say its in a good condition. It has a 1.75" carb, lcb, exhaust, all the stuff to make it run, but hasnt for 4 years.
it has a kent 266 cam in it, and the head is really ported. with out stripping it, i don't know any more, but it didnt burn oil, jump out of gear, and the oil from it was good.
Rough idea of price?

A blind figure as it’s difficult to judge an engine this way but I’d say around £800-1000 due to the standing for four years (dry stored no rust in bores and turns easily) and around £1500 if it’s good and running with a guarantee.. more if it’s very low miles etc

Rough idea of price? Did you do anything with the engine in the end?
