The new wheels and tyres look great! Those old-style Pirellis look so much better than modern tread pattern.

You might want to revisit the filler tube, that's going to be a lot of 6p, 10p, 8p click click click at the pump. A vent tube to the top of the neck may help, but that 90 with the horizontal section won't drain fast enough for most pump nozzles and will burp. Don't forget, you're not only putting fuel in, but you also have to let air back out.
Loving the progress though, looks really good!

You might want to revisit the filler tube That's a very good point. It won't be ideal but I'm simply hoping with a careful slow fill of the small tank with the nozzle just in, it will be bearable. It will recharge quicker than my EV, that's for sure Thanks for the kind words.

This is lovely - looking forward to seeing it on track at the weekender
Those seats are ace too I was thinking if only they did them with a higher back (aka headrest height) - curse word they do - need to clear out a motorcycle or two to fund a purchase

I just joined the board and can’t post a photo but I too have a blue Lenham Le Mans. Built last year by Lenham Classic & Sports Cars for Sprints and Hill Climbs but never raced. I bought it in July and enjoy driving it on Kent’s many winding country lanes. Will post a pic when I’m able to. I see I’m in good company!

Would be great for all our blue Lenhams to meet up at a show if that’s feasible? I’m in Kent, near Leeds Castle.

And finally…a question to my fellow Lenham owners: do you find road grit collects in the space in the bonnet below the headlights?
I’m running Toyo Proxes tyres which are a soft soft compound. They’re great for road holding but they pick up every microscopic item that’s lying in the road and deposit them in the bonnet.
All my driving is on narrow country lanes and after an hour’s drive I can easily fill up a couple of mug fulls of grit and dirt. Cleaning it out every time is a royal PITA!
I’m thinking of ways to shield the tyres from the bonnet gap and wondering whether extending the wheel arch or covering in the bonnet gap would be the best solution. And to fabricate something or use rubber matting?
Any thoughts?

we made liners for the arches on our minor out of 4mm Correx floor protection sheet, have survived a couple of years of all year round use with no problems.

Thanks for the suggestion. I Googled but couldn’t find one that will solve the problem. I need something to extend the front of the arch rather than just to protect it. But if you know of a specific product, I’d be pleased to hear about it. Thanks again!

Easy to work with, flexible and cheap too. Plus, it could work as a wheel arch extender or as a bonnet insert. I’ll make a pattern with some cardboard and see which would work best. Thank you!
