Shame it's over, Grizz... though probably even more so for you. Thanks for taking the time from a cleary busy schedule to share it with us. It's been fascinating... probably even more so than we saw! A lot more interesting, I only skim the surface with my reports. You cannot smell the outside carpark of Ethyls, hear a Peterbilt at an intersection, a Cummins Diesel angrily departing the scene of a crime, hear the accent of Roger Orf (part German, part deep American) feel the nuzzle of yet another dog, or the purr of a strange cat in your bed at 3.00am It has a few more reports to deliver, but they will get written back in the UK.

Sunday morning broke and it was time to get headed back to Missouri. Breakfast with Clem and Kim, then off on the motorway. Buffet breakfast. The 350-ish miles back to Dennis were very long. And I stopped a whole lot of times.

Great trip report bud, look forward to the next/final reports Great to see "Ethyl's" Hmmmm, Yes, thank your “friends” for it not featuring. Kelly wrote a sweet comment on my FB page yesterday…. I'm so happy you came by to see me before you left! As always, it was a pleasure to see you! Xoxo ❤️She did a bunch of silly pics with me, and Bryan whom I met up with. She went and got Sally and I each a Ethyls T-Shirt from the store for FREE. This is the sort of thing that again affirms and confirms my belief that people are good. 14 hours ago westbay said: …and mine !!! You have one? Yup, Mk1 'pull handle' 1965 roadster... Safe journey Rian Ahhhhh, another secret then Q what ! red mountain dew ! I wonder if we will get that over here, probably not safe trip home mate You may be able to get it from a seller on Amazon, years ago, someone ordered some real MtnDew and had it delivered to my home anonymously, so you may be able to track it down. Excellent trip report & pics, I take my hat off to you Grizz on this one I think we are all looking forward to the last few reports and sets of pics when you get back home in the UK oh and the finished wheels and the Rocket MOT when you have a few hours to spare Toys etc will be on the back burner the next few weeks while I get back on track with work, but also prepare for whatever this redundancy process delivers. We have all been made redundant, but some will be invited to apply for their own jobs, albeit changed etc. I would like to stay, andmif allowed to interview,,carry on paying my mortgage. what ! red mountain dew ! I wonder if we will get that over here, probably not safe trip home mate There are about ten different flavors, some stores have their own flavor that you can’t get anywhere else. I stick with the normal one. Correct. Absolutely loving this thread. Keep up the good work LOL. Thanks. Did they have an open toe, low ankle version just for you? Some of the random pics are for the random people who read and like specific stuff. I know Paul Y , like me, loves a decent cowboy boot. I struggle to find the right size.for myself, and rarely wear more than trainers, but have two pairs of shorties I used to wear. Different strokes….. There are about ten different flavors, some stores have their own flavor that you can’t get anywhere else. I stick with the normal one. probably a good idea to stick with the original one but if I get the chance i might just try the red one It is certainly not unpleasant, as cherry can be overpowering and quite yuck sometimes. This was a pleasant drink. another future project ? ? Absolutely not. Excellent trip report & pics, I take my hat off to you Grizz on this one I think we are all looking forward to the last few reports and sets of pics when you get back home in the UK oh and the finished wheels and the Rocket MOT when you have a few hours to spare Should be done by Friday teatime then ! Doubt anything will happen, fast for a while. But it will happen.

Random mix of road views….. Stops Things. Satnav suggested time of arrival. Many stops and shop visits changed that to 4.00pm Out on the roads. The size of these flags people fly over their premises amaze me. Fuel stop, fuel prices and a quick walk through a gift shop. Prices are there for the unaware or those looking for something special. Being part of Route 66 also helps Ozarkland. Back out on the road, I struggled to keep going. Cruise control set at an illegal pace, and still being overtaken by cars, campers, semi-rigs meant I kept to the slow (fast) lane. Cutlery shop always amazes me with the incredible array knives, used as tools, not weapons in the USA And the prices of many are amazing. More in a bit. Breakfast now

Just about to head to Dennis’s body shop, and then lunch at a restaurant recommended by a member on Garage Journal. Last part of the trip back to St Louis ran by a few interesting towns. America 2022. Probably unemployed, catching a ride on the back of a truck. One for the moderator. More signs. How to go on vacation in style. This was a Peterbilt unit iirc. Massive. Last pic was just short of Bryans home where the whole clan were gathered for a late afternoon Labour day lunch. More when I have wifi again, probably at home. Headed out to Dennis’s shop now, Debbie driving, and then airport bound. Thanks for the feedback, check ins and comments. Much appreciated.
