With regret our '79 Cougar XR-7 is up for sale.
Having only 1 owner and garage kept its whole life stateside, it really is a beautiful example.
Powered by the original 351 through to a 3 speed auto, both having been rebuilt less than 15, 000 miles ago, its now fitted with a PP intake manifold, Edelbrock 4bbl carb and a nice dual exhaust system w/ balancer and polished Gibson tips.
The body is super straight and dent free, the bright work is great. Looks more like it was built last Tuesday rather than 43 years ago! The paint is endearing, check the pics! Some minor marks/ imperfections here and there but nothing that takes away from the car. The Plastic front and rear infills show some stress marks and there is a light scratch on the passenger side rear quarter.
Underneath is completely solid and clean.
The Vinyl roof is as new.
Fitted with 20" wheels that fill the arches nicely, although if I was keeping the car some rear spacers would really finish the look.
Inside we have grey, a fitting contrast to the black on black exterior. The headlining is as new, the dash un-cracked, the carpet, doorcards and seats are in great original condition for the age. It's a comfy place to be, especially with the addition of a Custom Auto Sound install enabling you to plug your phone in, along with electric windows, door locks, drivers seat and AC as standard. The boot is cleanly carpeted. The cabin and boot being dry and leak-free.
