Hi all, I recently purchased a W201 190E 2.6 M103,
It's been stood for 4 years, when I first got it I put some fresh fuel in it and it fired up and idled smoothly, I even drove it around the yard no issues.
I came to it this week and it won't idle, it just about fires and when it does if I can get on the throttle it'll run but its rough and misfirey lots of fuelly smoke.
I've tried playing with the CO screw but the only way to get it to fire is to have it so theres no free play in the plate in the airflow meter, (youtube and the internet at large say I should have a little freeplay (1.9mm suggested as correct)).
I'm gonna be looking into this plenty tonight but was hoping a mercedes buff might be able to help me in what to look for?
The plugs are pretty wet most of the time, but leaning out the CO screw means it wont fire at all, turning it to rich (clockwise) will allow the engine to fire but runs awfully.
Plugs, leads and dizzy are new, and it ran smooth as anything before so I don't think its ignition. Could this be a vac leak? most of the tubes look pretty old but still in one piece. Any help or a link to a jetronic manual would be much appreciated.
Put 10l of fresh fuel in today just to make sure.
Is there a way to find out which kind of jetronic it is?
Thanks in advance
Andy
