Am watching a car on the good old ebay an 1956 Standard, its for sale with no keys and no V5 (the reg is there so i can get the v5 no worrys)
what would i do about the keys, ive been looking various places but cant seem to find a replacement key and barrel set.
i know with semi modern stuff you can go to the dealer or locksmith and have something coded/cut and boom your good.
anything older then 1980s and am stuck to how i go forward to get keys.

These are not high security locks. Depending on how worn they are, almost any vaguely key-shaped object will do the job.
The locks are probably made by Wilmott Breeden and there’s a good chance the key number will be marked on them and keys are readily available from many sources. They are simple enough to rearrange the tumblers to suit keys you may have or to make up a matching set.

I think the company was called HiKey - did lock and key sets for classic cars that era - not sure if they are still in business. But as above - the key number may well be on the lock itself

56 Standard should be FA series and the number should be on the face of the ignition switch as already mentioned. Mine all are. It won't be enough of a problem to make you consider not buying it. Vanguard or 8/10/Pennant? Better not be a Companion, as you'll have to fight me for it!
