Breaks my heart to sell this one. But storage issues are on the horizon, and frankly I’m coming to terms with the fact my values have changed a lot since I built it, and the money I have invested in it doesn’t justify the usage it gets or the cost of upkeep anymore. I’ve had it nearly 7 years, buying it whilst still an apprentice as a rolling project in 2015. I then spent 3 years building it into a fun, lively sleeper, finishing it not long after completing my course. Spec is as follows:
1959 Ford 100e, very solid shell, just a little crusty on the driver's door bottom and LHR arch in one place (about 3” area)
2.0 pinto, all stock with new 32/34 Weber carb (manual choke) and K&N filter
Type 9 Sierra 5 speed box
105e rear axle with 3.9 gears (best all-round ratio for the car I'd say)
S2 Escort RS Turbo 90 spec Recaros
Mk3 Capri column
2.8 Capri Bilstein struts, gusseted, with 185lbs adjustable coilovers, vented discs and refurbished calipers
Servo assisted brakes
Mini clutch master cylinder conversion which works very well and does away with the stock cable.
Lowered approximately 1.5” with blocks out back
Adjustable KONI (I think?) rear shocks
World Cup front crossmember, adjustable TCA arms, anti dive kit on Mk2 Escort front ARB, offset rose-jointed top mounts (so the geometry suits the struts without hacking about the strut tops as most people do on 100e's!)
MK2 Escort motorsport aluminium radiator
JBW smoothie wheels (Lotus Cortina replicas) on Goodyear tyres
All brake lines and hoses, master cylinders, clutch etc are new kunifer
MK2 Escort Ashley 2” exhaust, with back box only so it sounds fantastic!
Battery in boot, custom prop, homemade floor carpet
It’s been built well, despite its rough exterior. I put great thought into setting it up and doing it all properly, despite its tatty appearance. It handles phenomenally, it goes like the hammers of f*ck, sounds awesome, and I’ve driven it a lot (including to Santa pod twice) so have worked most of the bugs out of it. Paint is poor as evidenced, interior is sparse, gearstick is a fair way back but you get used to it.
MOT’ed till August but it’s MOT and tax exempt, I just get it done for peace of mind.
I know this car inside-out.
Best to call me if genuinely interested. Viewing encouraged. £8500 ono. It means too much to me to give it away for much less.
No swaps or PX’s!! Any ”hw much cash 2nite m9?” offers will be ignored. If it’s still on here assume it’s still for sale.
