I'm trying to crack down on all the little problems on my Escort mk3 1.1 I'm going to do the points first then turn my attention to the carb as there is an air leak on the bottom of the choke (I think) and sometimes it has a rough idle then sometimes it goes away.
My questions are apart from jets/needle valves is there any difference between the 1100 VV carb and 1300 or 1600 etc? I cant find a lot of info on this and if I'm buying Gaskets or Diaphragms I want to make sure they are for the right Carb.
I've rebuilt a Weber 32/36 before but this looks a bit more complicated, any advice on messing with these things?
I've seen a haynes manual on Ford Carbs and wondering if its worth buying this or not? Has anyone read this book?
Basically any info or advice would be good. I'll do the points first and see where i'm at and I'll have to find the right time to get into this as I use the car a lot . Also I'm only going to do whats needed not a full strip down unless I have to. I don't want to mess with the VV's eco system to much haha
