Quite jealous of the Recaros. Not so much the sill. Just had to put a new caliper on mine as it had seized and freeing it off only worked for a day. Still looking for the 'right' estate. I was looking for an estate when I found this, a lot have been used as work horses, so woukd have needed work, and the rear subframes are getting hard to come by now, and they're starting to all rot out. Settled for the hatch and to be fair the space inside is substantial, can get me, 2 kids and all our bikes inside without dismantling them at all. Wish I'd found the Recaros sooner to be fair, didn't realise how bad the original seats were, these are properly comfy. Yeah, they're a nice comfy seat. My hatch is big enough for normal family duties, but I want an estate so I can get my grandsons tot rod in, or on it. Also I think they look better. I've got money sitting waiting for the right one to appear. 😃

This thing is not in my good graces, not used it for a few days, so took it to the car wash this morning, looked lovely... 5 mins away the battery light is on, switch off, then on and it's gone, now I can smell burning so pull over lift the bonnet, and the aux tensioner has yet again gone, but the pulley has seized this time. This will be the 4th in 5 years, all brand names not generic ebay curse word. Think its the last straw for it to be honest, I genuinely prefer how the 27 year old Vectra drives over it. I'll get it fixed in the coming weeks then advertise it I think.

Dropped off at the garage this morning, was not happy about its month standing as the brakes released, tensioner was even less happy. Fingers crossed it comes back sorted tomorrow, where it will be cleaned and more than likely put up for sale.

And here we see the TDCi Mondeo in it's natural habitat, it never strays too far away from this spot...

Check the alternator clutch pulley if it keeps killing tensioners, its probably seized and allowing the engine pulses to be transmitted into the belt as flap.

He checked the alternator first in fairness to him, all good there, he did say once the tensioner and crank pulley were replaced that the amount of tension on it was silly, so much so he called 3 different suppliers to check he had the right belt (he did). Touch wood it's ok so far, think it's a Gates tensioner, continental belt and an INA pulley now, best he could get hold of for each part. I'm averaging a crank pulley a year now and a tensioner every 2, just poor design overall I think.
