Hi, What does the weight plate say? It's usually in the drivers door shut or under the bonnet.

It'll meet the towing weight fine (iirc 1300kg braked) but it may sit a bit too nose down on your car, only one way to find out....

A correctly lowered car with the caravan loaded to give you the correct nose weight it should be ok.
Usually I see caravans being towed with the car looking like it's got a boot full of concrete. Should only have 50kg or so on the hitch.

it wont be an issue at all if its a single axel caravan, if its a twin wheel it maybe as the front wheels will take more of the load so moving the center of gravity forward. I think a tow ball is meant to be 18.5" from the floor.

The old pair of scales and a piece of wood trick for nose weight with wood at ball height. As per slater my understanding is you need some nose weight and around 50kg max ideally. For local use if I can lift it to put it on the ball its OK. 850kg must be braked and but with odd angles etc. would make me not push too hard but if sensible see no reason not to work. Or you could lower the caravan... James

Nose weight bit ? Balance of caravan so not pulling up (unstable more likely to fishtail) or pushing down too hard on back of car. Assume lowering you understand ! you could create a whole new theme of matching lows on car and caravan. James
