Vintage 1950's cattle wagon, ranch trailer.
Imported from dry state years back.
Probably the only one of its kind in the UK, I expect.
Gorgeous patina, with original paint showing through and 60 odd years of character and surface rust.
Tows absolutely fine, hitch locks onto a standard UK 50mm tow-ball. Just covered 180 miles of being dragged down the motorways this week and towed like a dream.
Although I have to make it clear that at the end of the day its a very old trailer with no brakes, but in fairness cant see it being all that heavy as is.
Well balanced trailer, lights and electrics need rewiring, or use a trailer board.
Spare wheel fitted, and internal dividing gate too.
Originally it would have been braked, drums on front axle, but brakes are not in use, and hitch is a solid bar.
Its solid and structurally sound. The rust is 'surface' only.
I was going to fit new lights and wiring, new hitch and jockey wheel assembly, and then just retro fit all new brakes from a trailer parts supplier.
My intentions were to build it into a US style smoker BBQ trailer, which will basically turn it into a self-sufficient business. Although there are so many routes you can go down with this unique and quirky trailer.
Would love to keep and build this for myself, but usual story; no spare time, too many projects on the go, etc.
Reluctant sale, as I know I wont come across another.
Transport available, Nationwide, at buyers cost.
Located Hertfordshire.
More photos to be added soon...
Thanks, Matt
