Tried the roll-test which I could always rely on for diagnosing front lower control arm rear bushes on MINIs but I guess it doesn't apply to these as the front wheels remain totally firm in the wheel arch. On a MINI if the bushes have gone the wheel will roll in the arch and the car will stay still.
