Hi all - For sale my Midget 1500
Currently in daily use, absolutely love it but I've found another bigger rag-top which is getting my attention now.
Quick history - was in dry storage/abandoned for many, many years, friends brother dragged it out 3 years ago, gave it a good going over/recommission and then used it occasionally, I bought it last summer and it's been my stopgap daily driver for significant periods since - I travel for work so regularly cover 50 miles a day on mixed roads.
It's solid in all the right places, it runs and goes well, it's great fun. I've modified the heater so it gives plenty of heat for the winter. T&T free, insurance is about £130 for the year.
On the bad side, it's ratty (very poor paint and prep job particularly on the bonnet) it has loads of squeaks and rattles, drivers seat base is knackered, and it wants front shocks replacing or rebuilding as the handling at speed can be unpleasant (if you're really throwing it about)
Front wings are fibreglass with H4 conversions in, it's had new engine mounts this year, new fuel line front to back, petrol tank dropped and cleaned, along with a modified header tank arrangement which is a massive improvement on the original.
It runs very well and is pleasantly nippy, being a 4 speed it cruises nicely at 60, it will hold 70 but it isn't much fun to do.
It does use oil - as it's running so well I'd assume this is valve guides, it hasn't got any worse since I've had it so I'd just keep topping up.
The hood cover is ratty but I have a new cover, tonneau and a hard top to go with it. I also have the original front bumper if you're so inclined.
Easy fixer-upper or use how it is, if you saw how many other jobs I've got on you'd see why I'm selling!
Would part-ex cash my way for other tat-car, car trailer, open to ideas/suggestions.
