I have wondered how tricky it might be to re-fire ring a headgasket for a wider bore. Thinking mainly for a proposed big-bore SD1 2600 engine as I doubt anyone makes bigger gaskets for those! Surely it'd be a matter of cutting the hole wider and pressing on a slightly wider ring...
Copper sounds good, although I've heard of difficulties getting them to seal. Is it just a knack thing, or any special techniques needed?
