Yeah definitely. If I could fit an MG Midget and a Mini in there then it'd work out at only about £15 more than two council garages, which are insecure, tiny and have no power.

Also just to add, if I didn't currently have the need for a space to store a car I might still find it useful to have space to work on one. If there was a membership option that gave me access to a dry space with power and light to do work on a car that I otherwise would have to do on an uneven driveway in the rain I'd probably consider it a reasonable expense.
If you're able to offer such a space I could book out (only for members, booked in advance) then those designated spaces might generate more revenue per m/sq than the standard storage.
Add into the mix the fact that when I'm going down to work on my car I'd also be in the company of likeminded people who could provide assistance/advice (or just a friendly conversation) I reckon it's worth as much as a gym membership to me!

Thanks Merryck - Great food for thought. I might be able to offer you the type of space you are looking for. Shall we speak on the private messages?

Great news friends! Marlborough Auto Haus in now Open and full already! I moved some of my current crowd from Avebury Auto Haus to our new place in Marlborough this weekend. It was great to have cars in the space and i was worried that it would be small once the cars started to fill it up, however it seems fine and my plan is starting to come together. Even after only the first weekend, I am considering expansion. We have a father and son team who are converting a horse box into a mobile pizza oven. The best bit - they need to run the wood burning oven before commercially selling pizza, so they are promising free pizza!

It was great to meet you dan91 - thanks for your kind donation, the drill, sander and mini vice will be perfect once we start to pull together a workshop. Our chat has prompted me to think about a Mk1 Mx5 and bolstered my keen ideas about a free Saab 9000 in Guildford. Both could be dangerous to ones wallet. Thanks for popping by and the kind gifts.

Things are all going well. Its nice to pop down in the evenings and see so many car enthusiasts working on their cars. We even have a father and son team who are preparing a horse trailer to become a mobile pizza oven. They need to run up the oven regularly, so free pizza!!
My daughter has found me a 4.5 tonne 2 post lift for an amazing price. Its 3 phase, which is not an issue as the tile factory has three phase electricity for their kilns. I need to collect from Kenilworth this sunday. As well as collection, i will need to dismantle.
Any tips or advise on dismantling or transporting these?
I will add a thread to the wanted section too.

I bought mine a few years ago, collected it in a jumbo transit with the doors tied shut. On mine it was fairly easy to get the deck off the posts, cables were fitted to the top with big threaded screws. I als had to take the ramps off the cross beams, they unbolted easily enough but getting the pulleys out to release the cables wasxa fiddle (there was ball in the pin which had to align with a slot in the pulley but it was blind). There will aldo be a couple of gallons of oil in the tank you will need to do something with. The bolts in the ground are often mullered so take a angle grinder. It wasn't the worst job in the world but It is all very heavy, thankfully mine came from a working garage on a weekday so the fitters came out and helped.

We collected the 4 tonne lift - thanks for your help kevins. My brother Nic and his son Kish came over from Southampton and I arranged the hire of an enormous LWB van from Abacus, my local van hire place - not cheap mind.... We travelled up bright and early on Sunday morning to Kenilworth to the site of Woolies Workshop, later called Porsche Spares UK. Paul, the owner has emigrated to Ecuador - who can blame him and his Dad is helping to sell everything up. The lift was and is a little larger than i had anticipated. It looked pretty clean and not over worked. It works with a chain rather than cables, which is a nice touch. I remembered to isolate the electrics first!! Taking apart was straight forward with the help of my bro, Nic and his tools. I took loads of pictures of the dismantling to help when putting back together. We arrived at 11 and we on the way home at 1pm. Loading was heavy with an estimated 850kgs, but had some help with a few guys clearing the unit. On arrival back, it was a bit more difficult, with only me, Nic, Kish and my daughters to help unload 850kgs of bulky metal. Anyway, we got it all unloaded and stacked up on pallets ready for installation. Happy days!! A big thanks to Nic, Kish, Kiran and Sim.

I signed a three year lease on the unit yesterday (24.07.23) and have set up a limited company to minimise the risk to myself and my family.
It was a miracle as on the day of signing a fellow RR'r contacted me about a space at the unit and I can happily say that we are now full! I will update with more details as soon as I can...

Good question. Circa 15 but some have opted to have two spaces, but with only one car.

Sounds like a good number to me. Not too many to manage, but enough to keep the place lively. Good luck!
