Whats the general opinion on non original suicide doors?
I'm currently restoring a thoroughly rotten fiat 850t and both front doors and frames need substantial repair work. As part of this it occurred to me that it wouldn't be too much extra work to reverse the door openings and go full 70s style custom van.
Thing is, I can't decide if it's a step too far.

Retrofit Suicide doors are good, Retrofit Gullwing doors are not good. Given that i've rebuilt the roof structure and gutters on both sides I could hale done gull wings. Lucky i didn't think of that.

Retrofit Suicide doors are good, Retrofit Gullwing doors are not good. How about suicide doors with a gullwing roof?

I absolutely bloody hate them, but that’s becuase I’ve done a few sets 😂
They’re a hateful job, and much, much harder than anyone thinks to actually do. I’d rather chop, channel or section a whole car than do them. I also know of a few people who tried and ended up aborting the job and putting them back to stock. They’re especially difficult on cars with thin doors.
Go for it if you think you’re up to it, but don’t say I didn’t warn you 😉
