Picked this old girl up the weekend, Currently a non runner due to i think a faulty fuel pump. She,s a 280E quite rare or so ive been told. Originally bought to sell on but old Big Bertha is sort of growing on me, amazingly even the wife like Bertha. For a her age she's from what i can see a solid oil girl with very little rust, Unlike British cars designed and built in the 70/80's Last on the road in 2017 and the odd think is there is no mot history from before 2017 either, Just seems a long time to have been off the road, which i suppose may help explain the condition if she's been tucked away for years.

It seems that I wasn't alone in looking for Gerry Marshall's V8 Ventora.
Don't be fooled by the apparent good condition of this stored for years example; I defected to the Germans for years before I discovered that they were also largely rust buckets, they were more troublesome, and the parts cost five times as much.
This one does look a great place to start; looking forward to updates.

Pretty much exactly this, they hide rust extremely well and the injection system is a full bore nightmare. Maybe you have found a rust free one that only needs a fuel pump - I'm just going to wish you luck. oh, and I also clicked expecting a V8 70s Vauxhall!

Well ive had a good look around the car and only found one small section than needs a bit of welding, Not found any previous welding repairs either. Ive had the pump off tested and as i thought its buggered, New pump on order. Need to get the tank off next clean that out and check all the fuel lines. I have read the injection system can bit bit of a week spot, I guess time will tell. The interesting thing with this car is its only showing 103k and look at the interior i would say its genuine. There's only one mot on the data base from 2017 so from 2005 at least, Its not been on the road. I'm thinking its either been tucked away for years and forgotten about or its gone under a long term and slow restoration, The cars had a full repaint at some point in the past.
