what is a trickle charger? i have a 12v motorbike battery, and i also have a 12v power source in the garage. Can i some how trickle charge the battery from that ??
I am using this for 12v led lighting for if and when we have a power cut.

It's just a very low amp power supply.
You may well be able to use a LED supply or any small power adaptor really. That's basically all they are.

Your 12V supply will likely be <2A so very low power and won't sustain a trickle charger. Maybe worth looking at one of the solar battery conditioners? Mount it on the outside wall and run the cable inside.

12v power supply is a atx power supply. i think it does 5 amps.
as i say if it charges over 5 days that is ok, i just want it to stay topped up as i may never use it. its just for some lights incase of a power cut.
can i just put a live to it with a resistor in line? thanks

Funnily enough I had my SV on charge the other day after messing with the indicators and a tail tidy, on my rip-off optimate it was pushing 6A on pulse charge which dropped to 3.8A when it stabilised.

If you want to have it connected to the battery all the time, so that it's always at 100% charge, you need a floating charger (aka a battery maintainer). Something like this would do the trick.

oh i see, maybe id be better getting one of those lithium battery packs, they are also jump starters, come with charger etc ...
