Curious if anyone could shed some light on one of my harebrained ideas!
I have an outside Clarke garage tent thing in front of my actual garage and in the not too distant future it will be full of project van again. Said project van (my VW T25) will be blocking my garage and other car inside.
It would be really great if I could keep the project van sort of mobile whilst the underside is stripped to bare metal, has no engine, suspension etc, bare shell really (not much to ask I know ). Even if it's just shunting it back and forth a bit to be able to open the garage door.
I came across some 'mobile axle stands' the other day and I'm undecided if they are a good idea or the sketchiest thing known to man . The driveway is smooth tarmac so should be ok but could potentially sink a bit if not moved for a while.
I'd need two (one under each axle) so unless there is a bar connecting them there is the potential for each dolly to wander?!
Wheel dollies are the other option and I'll just have to suck up the fact I can't move it whilst the suspension is removed!
So anyone used them? Any real world advice appreciated!
Not my images but this sort of thing:
