Agricultural registered 1978-1979 its left-hand drive and has been with the same family on an estate near Chepstow since 1989, including me its had 3 owners. In 1979 1334 unimogs were produced. Price lists from 1980 suggest the truck would have been around £16,000 new and included a number of extras. The project was taken on with in mind to use the vehicle as a toy and has been mechanically repaired so it runs and drives. The chassis is in excellent condition and free from rust with most of its original paint, whilst the cab is also in good order for a 406 of this age.
Currently agricultural registered even if it was re-classified, due to age it would be tax & MOT exempt.
The truck has had light restoration with the gearbox fixed by Paul Howard as well as completing some other job such as repairing rear airline and front hub oil feed. hard top painted by a local body shop with arches and front bumper painted in Buzzweld chassis coat. After 6 years sat in a barn due to the gearbox losing drive, the engine required a new battery and it started after turning over just a few times. The truck has also had LED rear lights fitted.
All in all this is a very cool piece of kit for use on a farm, estate or as a toy. It can be used as is or restored further depending on the new owners requirements. I will refit the windscreen prior to agreed sale. I have a pair of leather Mitsubishi Panini seats to go in that can go with the Mog. Tyres have fair tread all round. Images of work done and other bits available upon request, also have some videos of it running an driving.
Requires things like a bracket for the air tank although I do have a new larger tank I was going to mount on top of the chassis which I will include the sale. Battery tray lid is also needed and the rear brakes need looking at as one is binding. AWD and air lockers work, builds air nicely, all gears work and engine is smooth, believed to have been replaced in 2010. Drives like an old Unimog. Needs an exhaust too.
