Fully restored ‘in period’ modified 1969 Mini Cooper, full (low) ownership history and remained local since new. Laid up for decades before a friend purchased it and had some recommissioning carried out (badly) in an attempt to make it ‘useable’ but never accomplished it, I purchased from him in 2017 and it became apparent a full restoration was required. The shell was fully bare metal restored by South Western Coachworks (100’s of pictures available) whilst I fully restored all the mechanicals to perfect condition before a methodical rebuild completed the job.
Period tuned 1340cc engine rebuilt correctly and dyno run in and set up on Swiftune engine dyno ( 114 bhp / 100 lb/ ft). ADO16 cooling system, rebuilt period ‘Abingdon’ SCCR gear train with Salisbury 3. 9 LSD, Cooper S hubs and brakes, twin tanks with double ended SU fuel pump, original Speedwell wheels, genuine key adjustable Ripspeed Hi-Lo’s, adjustable geometry, fully braided brake and fuel lines, lower engine steady, large oil cooler, electrical cutout, brake bias adjustment.
All invoices including much period paperwork along with memory stick of pictures (including prior rebuild in the early 80’s)
Currently used for some commuting duties so proven reliability and super fun.
