Well lots happened since Christmas with Dan's Escort.... First we bought a very rusty Fiesta Zetec S for £350 as a donor car which wasn't a bad move as we sold loads parts off it which we didn't need putting plenty of cash in the pot. So the the 1300 got removed from the Escort and we have dropped the Zetec S running gear in. We had quite a few challenges along the way but overall we are now very pleased with the results of what was a very low cost conversion using stuff we had sat around. Has now been returned to daily use this week

Can't be many escorts with a sigma under the bonnet, well done!
Have you had to do anything suspension-wise, I assume the sigma is much lighter than the crossflow?

Cheers, no doesn't seem to be an popular engine choice at the minute but I reckon that could all change. The Escort already had slightly uprated springs in and we have left it as is and all seems to work well, even the escort shafts mated to the fiesta gearbox which was a bonus

I thought the front would pop up without the boat anchor up front?
Sure to be a popular swap as iron block zetec numbers fall, as you say.

Great car and a great engine choice! Makes life really easy should you wish to drop the 1.7 Sigma in there. RS2000 wheels look smart on there too!
