Hey y'all, I thought I'd kick this off, as there were many amateur photographers around yesterday, so anyone looking for a particular image of their car on the field or on the hill can have a better chance of finding it. Just so nobody thinks their photos aren't good enough, I should explain that although I was using a good quality digital camera, I'm very rusty using it and didn't do any preparation or post-processing. If you want a really good picture of your car, best to recruit a professional. Due to the above, my photos on the hill in the late afternoon varied from this:  to this:  A very short depth of field meant that it was a lottery which part of the car was in focus, even when I did some panning shots. Still, it doesn't look like the cars are moving slowly, so that's good.  Believe it or not, I deleted 30 photos which were so out of focus they made my eyes go funny. To start with I caught these nutters on the hill on Friday night    Ace I’ve got a picture of my SLK on the hill Shelsley staff were a bit concerned - the gamekeeper had phoned it in (clearly on EE network) and concerns were raised about the lack of medical cover so in order to resolve the concerns I had to shoot up the hill and ensure that the start point was not too steep. Some negotiation took place and a more sensible point (ie not the finish line) was chosen (mainly because the road is an access road to a farm and the farmer was out for the evening. I then acted as a medical car in case of serious injury and as a course car to gently usher their return to level ground. I could then leave the winners to their ceremony on the podium and go and finish my beer happy that a near death experience had been avoided  |
