Ginetta G26 - Chassis no. 00001
Manufacturing year: Unknown, first registered for the road May 1987
Price: £350ono
Collection from: Sittingbourne, Kent
No MOT, No Engine, No Gearbox, No Axle
The history of this car has someone been lost over the years but it is confirmed to be the very first G26 from the factory as stated on the V5 and chassis stamp as 00001. It was first registered for the road in 1987 on a Q plate - Q539HNG as a 2l Petrol, it was last MOT in 2015. At some point a Ford guy bought it and nicked the engine and gearbox, previous to this it has covered 80,000 miles!
The car was originally painted white, then at some point painted metallic blue and then sometime (probably in the 90s) the white vinyl stripes were added to the car and the graphics on the side.
I purchased this car a few years ago with good intention but my other 3 cars have consumed all my time and this one has sat unloved. My original intention was to fit a Jaguar AJ30 V6 and manual gearbox, but it's just never got to that stage.
The car as it stands (what you are buying):
Complete galvanised chassis, although grubby is rust free
Cortina front subframe and disc brakes
Some yellow suspension (unknown make)
Fuel tank
Atlas rear axle on drums
Ford interior of some sort (retrimmed in the 90s)
The original dash (with some bling bits of alcantera)
Retrimmed steering wheel (also in alcantera)
All panels
All glass (some of which has limo tint film on)
Some modified Mk1 Golf rearlights
Some amazing 90s 5 spokes with reasonable tyres and Ginetta centre caps!
The body work is straight-ish having been painted twice and the Ford Fiesta doors appear to be laregly rust free. The worse section is the lower front nose which has been damaged by someone cutting a hole in it and the beginnings of the rear light work.
What does it need:
An engine (see my listing for Jaguar V6, which does fit!)
A gearbox (see my listing for Getrag 5 Speed, which also fits)
Rewiring - lighting loom intact
Painting - "restore" either the factory white or maybe the '90s MaxPower look
Some fibreglass work to the rear, finish off light housings
Cleaning inside

Adam
