After a very long absence from this forum and frankly not growing up at all. I thought I may share my current daily/project shed. I can't take any further pictures at present as it's currently at Norton Tuning solutions in Dinnington having a new clutch fitted. I have never paid so much for a clutch in my entire life but its OK because racecar. So here are the only 2 current pictures I have of my Colt CZT Nice to have a good leather interior (except for when that leather is black and it happens to be 31 degrees with 0 functional AC). I am also aware that the gear gator is the wrong colour but it is from a Colt base and looks way better than the mess that was fitted when I got it. Treated it to a replacement bonnet as the one fitted looked terrible (as does the roof and the top of the boot). But it wouldn't be a red 2006 japanese car (actually made at the Nedcar plant) if the clear coat wasn't all peely. More will follow as things progress, it's going to need a timing belt as there is no record of it ever being changed. Then we can move onto the more pressing matter of turning it up as far as I can safely get it because I have nothing else better to do.

Message from garage this morning showing me my lovely roasted gearbox oil. For a brief moment I thought they had got me a coffee 😆

Unfortunately no pictures as yet.
Norton tuning solutions in Dinnington did a fantastic job fitting my stage 3 paddle clutch (Simon and crew certainly know their mitsys).
Drives not far off standard feel just really bitey and not in the slightest prone to stalling so I like it.
We can start planning out adding the ponies now as the drive is up to turning up the power.

This is the After result of "can open, worms everywhere" ! Essentially derbyshire County Council are being cheap skates and putting surface dressing on any and every road surface in the area. This resulted in about a million bitumen spots and bits of gravel stuck down both sides of the car over the entire length, door handle height down to sill level. So with the help of the oldest child we set about to remove all the black mess ..... we ended up cutting and polishing every panel because it looked awful once we started. We haven't touched the wheels yet as they seem to be suffering the same leprosy as the roof and random areas where the clear coat is badly damaged or simply coming off. I suppose this is what happens with class leading Japanese paint tech applied in the Netherlands 🤷 *other brands and locations of application may also be turd when red* So yeah, boring update. But at least it is moderately clean now. Stage 3 clutch seems to have bedded in nicely too taking my 0-60 sprint down to about 7 seconds flat coupled with the flywheel (checked via torque through the obd). More soon I suppose

It didn't click why I liked your car but the once's here in Straya are not half as cool. Well, I worked out that most if not all are 5 door models. They just don't look as good as yours. I like yours a lot.

I like yours a lot. Seems the 3 door colts where very much a euro thing from what I see. Still nothing major to report on this car except from getting a fine for driving through Manchester City centre. Most expensive mile I have ever done at £30 for the privilege 🙄

As I'm at work these days for upwards of 15 hours I'm not getting much done with the car.
It decided to kill the battery in a very inappropriate place just after filling the tank. Slightly embarrassing not being able to leave until rescue arrived.
027 battery if anyone else with one of these needs to change it and has no reference.

Well, things have gone a way I didn't want to happen.
The gearbox has cheesed itself, there's play in the input/output shafts and it's really crunchy through the box.
Decision is to send it to a breakers. I was offered a good price and it's simply too far gone for me to warrant the spend needed to fix it.
£600-£1500 to rebuild the gearbox (which shares internals with the R50 mini getrag 5 speed unit), that is providing the bearings haven't chewed up the casing ..... or about £4000 for a new unit from mitsubishi directly which happens to be on back order so may be no longer available.
I have no patience with the open market and getting messed around for weeks so hopefully it will be sacrificed to save a few others.
Sad times indeed.

Just found this an saw you mention Norton tuning at dinnington. That's about 5 minutes from my house and never knew they were there haha. I actually saw the blue Evo X that's all over there page yesterday picking my kids up from nursery haha.
Really like the look of these as hoped to see it progress then to read the last update 😭 can you not get a box from a breakers or are they prone to this and be buying someone else's problem.
Good luck
