I've searched high and low and still struggling for an answer to the problem I'm having with getting an NA alternator to charge.
It's a 3 wire alternator.
I can get it to charge if I earth one of the wires to the car briefly but then the revs drop suddenly and pick up but it starts charging fine. Fan belt starts to squeal then stops.
If I manually earth my Firenza warning light to the body it lights up but never works when wired up. A higher wattage bulb has been suggested or an resistor to get it work. Theory says it might.
Picture below shows the various readings I get with an multimeter.
Any ideas? What size resistor would work if that is the issue?
