What are people using to display their diecast models? I've got a few hundred hotwheels, matchbox and others cars all still on their cards but i'm not sure how to display them. Ideally they need wall mounting.

I think I’d just got for a simple picture hook or tack nail spaced so that the cards all fit side to side top to bottom without any wall exposed.
You could use peg boards etc but they’d all be hidden so not sure if there’s any advantage apart from the holes being pre-spaced accurately.

I use Christmas card holders , the metal ones where the cards slip into a paper clip type affair either side , which I then can hang up

I know somebody who put styrofoam boards on his wall and stuck needles in it to hang matchbox cards on them. That way he can either hang them all separately, but close to each other or overlapping, so only the plastic bubble with the car is visible, only the top card in a row is fully visible.
Makes sense with a growing collection.

Walls are new plaster so don't really want to put too many holes in it. I made up some holders at work, made some for long cards and some for short cards. I've hung mine on the back of the stairs and they fit pretty well. I've managed to stack a long card with another short on top. I've probably got the program to run a load tucked away somewhere. I then just pin this into the wall with a pin or screw. I will try to grab a photo.

I've been meaning to tie knots in string leaving loops at appropriate spacing to hang the cards from... But naturally have never got around to that..

Not the cheapest way but basically the same idea I guess. These are from IKEA,I don't plan on displaying all my cars though, I have two more boards to go on the wall behind the screens that will have the longcards, this one will be organised, a colour per column and each row a manufacturer. When I get tired of the hotwheels I can hang up anything on these as they're pretty stout.
