1972 Ford Courrier / Mazda B1600
This is a Californian imported truck, Sold in the USA as a Ford Courier. The truck was built in Japan and is the same as a Mazda Proceed and a Mazda b1600.
It has been fully restored by JFI Classic Cars. This is a professional restoration. The work has been carried out to a very high standard.
This was restored to be used as a work truck for my restoration business. But Its just too nice to use and I will ruin it! I have done just over 1000 miles since the full resto.
As this was going to be used as a daily truck everything has been done properly.
The engine is an M44 BMW, lightly modified to 160bhp, has a Getrag 5 speed gearbox also from a BMW. The gearing is perfect 70mph is well under 3000rpm. The truck cruises nicely at 80mph and is actually pretty quick as it only weighs around 1000kg.
Headlights have been converted to modern sealed beam LEDs. All the electrics have been replaced front to back, every single component has been replaced or refurbished and everything works as it should.
The wiring and fuse box is hidden under the passenger side dash. A modern radio which looks like an old one which has bluetooth and a sub under the seat. All new door seals and window seals. The heater blows nice and warm too.
The paint is almost perfect, just a couple of very small imperfections and tiny dents.
The interior has been re trimmed, a new headlining & dash covering. New carpets and re trimmed door cards.
The exhaust was made by myself from mild steel, it has a slash cut side exit which is a bit rowdy. If this is a problem I can fit a full rear exit exhaust.
Underneath the truck is as solid as the top. Completely cleaned, any minor corrosion was repaired and then the whole thing was primed, sealed and painted. It is exceptionally clean & straight.
The wheels are the original 14 inch steels which have been banded and powder coated. 4 new tyres fitted with a white wall band.
The bed has been left as it was when it came to the UK. ie, unrestored. It is completely rust free, just has patina. This was in an attempt to keep some originality.
A custom made waterproof bed cover keeps things looking tidy.
MOT until Jan 22. Its MOT exempt but MOT'd anyway. Free historic vehicle tax too.
Looking for £15,000. Which is a fair price considering how much it would cost to build this again.
There is lots more to say about this truck so if you have any questions please feel free to call me for a chat on 07966 440609.
I also have loads more pictures if you need them.
Thanks
James
