For those of you who haven't seen this, I have bought something a bit more Ford, its quite an 60s obscurity only being produced for just over 3 years, and were notorious for rotting as you watched them, it has a touch of the Tin worm, Needs sills on both sides, and a bit on the rear chassis, its ratty, and its probably going to stay like it is. I have been pulling out wires form a previous owner, that were just plain smart, wires poked thru drilled 3mm holes in the bulkhead, no grommets. A bonfire waiting to happen, Projected power source is likely to be a ST170, replacing the very very tired 1500pre crossflow, going to get sill fitted next week, plus the small bit on the rear chassis rail, after all it is a 60 year old FORD that were notorious for going rusty

Oh man, you are a winner !!!
Years ago, around the time of the Taunus Transit, I was looking at buying a burgundy one for sensibly silly money over in Essex.
I got the bus in stead, possibly saved by the bell.
Looking forward to this unfolding.

Strange marketing ploy - Ford launched the Classic in direct competition to their own Cortina . . . not sure what they hoped to achieve.
Will watch this with interest . . what about the A35 van and V8 Capri? . . . . . .

That brings back memories, didn't know they did a 2 door Classic Consul. If the uploader works there should be pic below of a 4 door one I owned in the late 1980's - I am an old cnut

The Van is safe, mothballed at the moment while Iget the 315 started, may be a slight change of direction in power plant but watch this space.

Wow, the two door is very rare and - I think - much more attractive than the four door.
