That's rather lovely - it's on my bucket list but bearing in mind prices of 80's J-Bikes are climbing fast these days it's unlikely to ever happen  The 750 models are still relatively affordable, the 1000/1100 ones are silly money though, were even back when I owned that one over a decade ago. It's a weird one - I never realised UK got the 750 in the original style - On my radar is the "pop up headlight" version that seemed to be imported later as J market only models I had a 650 but that was shaft drive and really just a std GS in a posh silver painted frock |

First car was a MK2 fiesta reg E11 WAK and the zx I had before this bluebird was E43 TEA. Was born in 1988  |

'71 on the J here. Some good stuff about in '71 including the Alfasud, Bobby Ewing SL, Fiat 127, Maserati Bora. This is easily the most ridiculous. Apologies for the lack of an actual J-plate on it.  |

I'd be a K reg, I think we once had an Imp that reg, but the oldest car I've run myself was 1 79 mini that was more rust and oil than car

I've never owned anything remotely as old as me. The oldest car I've owned in terms of build date (apart from a brief link to an MGB on a W plate) was a 1985/B BMW 3er but that was in the late 90s. In fact my current cars are 20 and 21 years old and that's the oldest in years that I've ever owned and by quite a few years.

Photo grabbed from the net, my aunt and uncle had matching C and F plate Alpines when I was a child, loved them. I'm 68 vintage, have owned a car older than me (1962 herald) but never the exact year.  |
