After buying a couple of moderns and then selling a couple I decided I need a project as I haven't had one for a while. I went to view a rough 20vt locally, but the seller couldn't stomach what I thought it was worth. My interest in finding a suitable example was piqued, so a thorough search has now resulted in a purchase of a much better car in my favourite colour (Sprint Blue) for not much more than I offered for the rough one. It arrives Friday. Plans are to give it a thorough inspection and start a list of work required or desired to get it up to my usual standard.

The transporter arrived around 17:30 (outstanding guy who I always use to move any cars) I had a good look underneath the car whilst it was on the truck and was very happy/relieved to find the seller had been completely honest - it's very clean and tidy with no rot and only minor scabbing on a rear wheel arch lip. This will be addressed early so no holes appear. It was then unloaded so it could meet a couple of other stable mates for the first time

I'm delighted to find it's better than expected and better than described by the seller. Low mileage, very hard to find at 25 years old 3 keys including the important red key and a lovely 90s TOAD alarm/immobiliser which also operates the central locking Original dealer supplied number plates, tax disc holder and rear window sticker - all staying The car has been on the road this year, I like the old tax disc in the window and there are others in the paperwork

Gearknob in excellent condition - rare and very expensive to replace Nasty sticky plastics; typical of these cars but easily remedied. Sony bluetooth head unit is a bonus. Treasure! This will go towards the Fiat fettling fund A quick de-chav/race lighten exercise

No more time for now to look at it for now, straight into the warm and dry I will hopefully find some time over the weekend to start the cleaning and inspecting. I'm over the moon with it, seems I've bought a good car and at a very keen price.

We’ve got a few of these on the forum now! Looks great, I love the colour - it was definitely one of the colours at the top of my list when looking to buy mine.
