	Guten Morgen! Found a very rare early 203 on ebay Kleinanzeigen.... Looks like it's never been welded/restored.... With OEM sunroof and roofrack.... Love that colour! The small rear screen of the early modells.....i love! Central speedo and 4 spoke steering wheel....only till 52.. 24oo0km....this can be real.... As a big bonus:The 1500cc BIG BLOCK from the later 403 is already fitted!From the factory it came with 1300cc /42 HP...this one has 58HP. So...today i will travel to the south and have a look.... But,the car needs some attention in many areas...but that was not a real suprise.The car got a restoration long ago...maybe more than 40 years ago.And it was a very good one! The car is from Switzerland and comes to germany about 15 years ago to the seller,a classic car collector.He drove it very little,mostly under 100km(!)per year. There are problems with the bearing from the waterpump and the shaft from the throttle is badly worn.Brakes needs some overhaul... Parked the Fiesta safely at the seller and headed back home with the 203! Had to stop about 5 times for checking the bearing from the pump... There are ignition problems,too.....and i think the last valve clearence check is 30 years ago.. Also,the fuel gauge doesn't show anything.... And the roof rack is VERY noisy! BUT: It get's me home! Next day:Checking the valve clearence! Easy! The spark plugs.... The air cleaner... After this the engine runs very smoth again! But it's a good one!Look at this! Seats ...like new!NO wear at all! Glove box....with the handle for the wiper!(If the electrical fails) Central speedo!I love! Registered it yesterday! Decal inside the RH glove box... More to follow! Greet

I've done such trips more than once....and i got home always. Meanwhile i have looked for some more issues at the 203.There is a clonking noise from the underside when you lift the clutch pedal....looks like one engine rubber mounting is dead. So,the engine and gearbox has to come out..... The lenses from the semaphores are brittle/broken/melted(someone fitted a way to big bulb inside!).... No lenses available.... Also no hazard warning lights are fitted....that is a must for german Tüv!Don't know how it gets german paperwork in the past. I will fit this soon. And the rear lights have to be turning lights,too Lots to do.....like always! But it's worth! Greet

	Hi! Started work on the sedan... removed the oilpan....yes,good idea like always. 60 years of sludge....the engine is from 1960 and it looks like unopened till now.. The carb....pre cleaned... ...and after it was in the ultrasonic-bath... Opened the brakes and drained the oil on gearbox and back axle.... Ordered a long list of parts.... Greet

	Hi! I'm deep into it..... Engine & gearbox are out... The first damaged part:The universal joint from the propshaft is shot That was the clonking noise.... The next bad thing:Somebody filled in the WRONG gearlube into the rear axle:The bronze worm gear is massive attacked . The right oil is vegetable based SAE 90 GL2....but here was a GL5 oil in the axle. The bronze wheel took massive damage.So,i will look for a new one,but for now it has to stay.I will fill in a mineral oil SAE 90 GL1 with a MOS additiv. Carb is back from overhaul.... New hard chromed throttle shaft! Greet

	Bad news on the differential, ive heard about the modern oils doing damage but never seen myself, when you get it pulled apart perhaps we can have more pictures of the damage?
