Just out of curiosity, is it all sorts of classics going missing or is it just escortmad is very diligent about posting Fords and weighting the numbers here? RR is about as close to social media as I get, so I don't know what's going on out there as much as some. Not having a go, I think it's great you are so proactive and spend your time helping other folks. My pickup was nabbed a while back and despite getting it back I was in pieces. That said, Fords are easy to steal and worth an awful lot compared to their counterparts,so it's understandable why the scum target them.
Whatever, it's a horrible feeling and I hope the owner gets it back in one piece.
Keep up the good work escortmad, if it helps owners get cars back then it's worth it. If it helps owners of slolen cars knowing others care and the car community is trying to help then that's a good thing too.

It always seems to be Kent/London/Essex too.

The only car I ever had stolen was a Ford, and I'm in Surrey. Its a rubbish feeling, made worse if there was stuff in the car, which in my case there was. I don't think Fords are the only cars being stolen, but they certainly seem pretty popular. Home they get this one back.

The problem is with Ford cars of that era you can be in and away in 5 minutes with hardly any noise.

We seem to have a huge problem in the south east Many classics go missing but particularly fords We have to hide our van away when not in use Blocked in wheelclamped and steering wheel disc lock on Ours isn’t worth fortunes but it’s got massive sentimental value and if it got stolen I’d be devastated And quite likely want to cut somebody’s fingers off!! It’s just a case of being careful where you park your pride and joy and take every precaution you can It’s a shame we live in this kind of world now

You only have to look at the stories of how they used to taken.... these people really don’t care how they just will. Every precaution has to be taken, may even start seeing these chained up like motorbikes just to slow them down/ slow down the take.

Yeah my pickup was on the drive blocked in with my car. They just smashed the car window to let the handbrake off and pushed it out of the way, so I had a truck with a smashed steering lock/ignition barrel and a car with no window. At least they didn't just shove it out of the way with the truck....

We keep dads hotrod with a wheel clamp on it and a chain around the rear wheels and a ground anchor. The model A is kept on axle stands in the garage. Got to make it as unattractive as possible for an opportunist

Other brands too but classic Ford's, Land Rovers, classic Mini's & classic VWs are the most common. The reason I share predominantly Ford's is I run the Stolen Oldskool Fords pages on social media. www.facebook.com/groups/stolenoldskoolfords
